Four Days On, Three Days Off

The Case For A Four-Day Workweek over at The New Republic’s environment and energy blog makes a lot of good points. Here is my personal list of reasons why America should adopt the four-day workweek:

  1. More family time.
  2. More time to do things yourself, instead of paying other people to do them (e.g., mowing the lawn).
  3. More variety (i.e., everyone won’t be at the movie matinee on Saturday).
  4. More family time.
  5. Less wasted time on the job (i.e., fewer coffee breaks and water-cooler moments).
  6. Fewer cars on the road.
  7. More people around the house.
  8. One less dress shirt to wash and iron each week.
  9. T.G.I.F. will become an archaic acronym.
  10. More family time.

I LOVE this idea, I had no idea that there was a whole movement dedicated to it!
